FIFA 14 News

Not sure if you’ve noticed, but it’s September, and we all know what that means! It’s the end of summer – sure. It’s getting worryingly close to Christmas – undoubtedly. But, more importantly, FIFA 14 is out this month. I’m sure most of you already have the date penciled in to your calendar (27th September for us Europeans and the 24th for those of you across the pond), and are eagerly awaiting getting your hands on the latest instalment from gaming giants, EA. Well, for those of you who can’t wait much longer, I have some good news for you – the demo will be released tomorrow! (10th September)

That’s right, in pretty much 24 hours you can be playing FIFA 14, with its improved ball physics, increased intelligence of the players (both attacking and defending), as well as the all new ‘Ignite’ game engine. Shooting has been completely transformed with the introduction of ‘Pure Shot’. This will give a more realistic ball physics, to start, but it will also mean that players can adjust their stride as they run as well as the momentum behind the shot. Players will also be able to use their body to shield the ball, allowing for powerful runs and a strong midfield – something that was attempted with the ‘close control’ of FIFA 13, but came up short. Career mode has also been updated, with an all new and improved scouting system. It’s shaping up to be the best FIFA yet! Though they say that every year, so it kind of has to be.

The best part about the FIFA demo is finding out what teams you’ll be able to play as and then discovering what rating your favourite players will have. Will Ronaldo finally be rated higher than Messi? Probably not. Will EA finally manage to replicate Barcelona’s playing style? It’s doubtful. But still, isn’t it exciting finding out nonetheless? I think it is. So, this time tomorrow, EA will give us a big taster of what to expect with this years title. I have a feeling that it will be the best FIFA yet … have I already said that? EA sure have.
